Pregnancy and birth are physically demanding. Mental preparation and emotional support
can go a long way towards helping you manage the intensity of your upcoming labor and birth.

Ideally, you should take a childbirth class between weeks 20 and 36 of your pregnancy, while 6-8 months pregnant.

I created the Organic Birth Childbirth Class to provide families with a comprehensive understanding of the birthing process and information on how to prepare for the big day!

This class is fully customized to fit your needs, circumstances, chosen provider and birth facility.

               During this series, we will examine and discuss:

• your ideas, hopes and concerns surrounding birth
• nutrition and exercise during pregnancy
• typical progression of pregnancy, labor and birth
• common variances
• the evidence regarding your birth options
• comfort measures
• the benefits of breastfeeding and how to begin
• the postpartum recovery period
• preparing for life with a newborn

This course in currently only available for private, in-home instruction.  The cost for this series is $400 per couple plus a $100 travel fee if more than 20 miles from Oak Lawn.

I am very exited to offer the brand new Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class.  

We will meet online for eight weeks on Tuesday evenings March 2nd through April 20th from 7pm-9:30pm.  Each week, prior to class, you and your partner will watch instructional videos on your computer, tablet or phone.

By taking the Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class, you and your partner will not only learn the evidence for your birth options in an online class, but you’ll also get to meet in-person with an experienced instructor and other parents in the area who are going through pregnancy and birth just like you! 

This class is limited to only 6 couples.

Is this a Natural Childbirth Class?  At Evidence Based Birth®, we believe that every person has their own unique path. Instead of focusing on medicated vs. unmedicated birth, we focus on giving you tools and helping you learn the evidence, so that you can be empowered to make your own decisions! We do have a strong emphasis on non-drug comfort measures, because they have no side effects and can be used by everyone, whether or not you plan to use medications.

At the end of this class, you will have all the tools you need to create your ultimate labor and birth experience. If you want a natural birth, this class will give you the relaxation and pain management tools you need to have a natural birth. If you need an epidural or Cesarean, we’ll cover how you can be empowered that way, too!
